Job Description Job Description We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our client's team in Winston Salem, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate manufacturing cost data while providing financial insights to support business operations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in analyzing financial information and collaborating effectively with various departments. Responsibilities: • Conduct cost rollups and update overhead rates to maintain accurate manufacturing costs. • Review and approve new and existing item numbers to ensure precise system categorization and costing. • Analyze revenue recognition processes and provide detailed analytics on revenue trends and margin performance. • Perform month-end close activities, including labor and benefit accruals and financial reviews for business units. • Identify and investigate manufacturing variances, providing actionable insights to improve operational efficiency. • Support business units by preparing financial reviews and delivering ad-hoc reporting. • Research inventory discrepancies and costing anomalies to ensure financial accuracy. • Assist in maintaining internal controls related to inventory management and manufacturing processes. • Collaborate with production staff to resolve costing and inventory issues effectively. • Solid knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysis. • Proven analytical skills with the ability to manage large datasets and perform in-depth research. • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs, and familiarity with systems like D365. • Strong attention to detail, particularly in managing item setups and Bill of Materials (BOMs). • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required. • 1-3 years of accounting experience in manufacturing or distribution environments is preferred.
