Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and key oncology advocacy and
professional organizations/societies to stay ahead of the rapidly
evolving science and increase our ability to improve the lives of
people living with cancer. Successful KOL engagement in oncology is
complex due to the multiple different types and stages of cancer,
trends in biomarkers and genes to personalize medicine, strong
pipeline/approval of oncologic therapeutics and continuously
changing guidelines to drive the standard of the care. The KOL
engagement lead will provide strategic direction in collaboration
with key stakeholders in Oncology across Labcorp Drug Development
and Labcorp Diagnostics to understand insights needed from KOLs and
to create an executable KOL roadmap. Success will be measured by
the execution of the roadmap, gaining and sharing key insights and
then developing resources/tactics that meet customers as well as
patient's unmet needs to bring the promise of precision medicine
with reach for all. Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the Labcorp Oncology KOL, Advocacy and
Professional Organizations/societies strategy in conjunction with
Medical Affairs and alignment with key initiatives including
engagement at trade shows/congresses, speaker's bureau,
publications, marketing materials, etc.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and develop
novel strategies to understand and impact strategic KOL thinking on
critical areas of disease state and product need
- Develop advisory committee and organize advisory engagements
based on key strategic initiatives to gain KOL insights
- Conduct and create content for advisory boards in conjunction
with medical, commercial, regulatory and other key internal
stakeholders.
- Improve existing tools and develop novel capabilities for KOL
identification, profiling, and engagement
- Lead the planning and roll-out of KOL Peer to Peer speaking
engagements to share key insights with other community or academic
based professionals
- Proactively lead the development of digital tools and
technology to enhance KOL strategy and external facing activities
and increase co-branding partnership opportunities with advocacy
and oncology professional organizations/societies.
- Partner with integrated marketing and other cross-functional
partners to drive tradeshow/conference KOL engagement planning
- Develop scorecard to report metrics to key internal
stakeholders
- Share KOL best practices across the organization to elevate
other key therapeutic areas Education:
- Bachelor's degree in science and/or marketing in health
sciences preferred
- MBA or advanced degree in clinical or life sciences preferred
Experience:
- 8-10 years of industry experience (clinical practice, research,
academic, medical affairs, commercial and/or market access).
- 5+ years in oncology space with knowledge of oncology
diagnostic testing preferred.
- A desirable candidate would have field-based experience
including the management of KOL data and implementation of
strategic initiatives as well as an understanding of marketing
strategy and experience with planning and executing peer to peer
programs and advisory boards.
- Proven abilities to define and articulate the strategic needs
for a brand and to align with key stakeholders on the tactical plan
and associated operational priorities
- Proven abilities to develop, manage, and communicate large data
sets to cross functional stakeholders and impact decision
making
- Proven track record of strong strategic leadership, teamwork,
innovation, project management and demonstrated ability to manage,
lead and mentor individuals
- Demonstrate understanding of global ethics & compliance
- Ability to understand and align the needs from global, regional
and national perspectives
- Proven ability to influence and have strong collaboration
skills and change management with an ability to work successfully
in a complex, global, matrixed organization
- Ability to oversee the creation of strategic, long-range plans
that are aligned with strategies across the organization and to
