16-month role commencing May 2026 Come join us at Terrestrial
Energy, a US developer of advanced, Generation IV nuclear reactors.
We are growing our workforce to develop and deploy our Integral
Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) small modular nuclear plant to provide
cost-competitive, clean firm heat and power to industry. The
Company has recently completed a merger creating a publicly listed
operating company (NASDAQ IMSR), to secure the capital resources
for our next growth phase. With the current alignment of US Federal
and State government, as well as industry interest in Small Modular
Reactor (SMR) and advanced reactor technologies such as Terrestrial
Energys IMSR, there is today a unique and compelling opportunity to
participate in the execution of the companys growth business plan.

professionals and leaders in engineering, R&D, product
management and business development areas at our Charlotte, North
Carolina headquarters and future project sites. We are looking for

development. Can assist in the creation of the discipline and

excellence, necessary for the development and deployment of the
Companys IMSR plant. Can thrive in a fast growing and opportunity

adaptability at a time of organizational change. Have the specific
skillset and experience for the following role: The Civil
Engineering Intern, under the direction of Civil/Structural
Engineering Manager, is primarily responsible for aiding the Civil
Design team in the development, analysis and design of civil
systems. Other responsibilities include: Prepare civil engineering
design documents including calculations, analysis and design
reports, design memoranda, engineering drawings Prepare SAP2000
models of steel and concrete structures Assist with engineering
evaluations related to seismic, extreme wind, and other natural
phenomena hazards Assist in the development or verification of
analytical models involving seismic loads, soil profiles, and
boundary conditions Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates,
and constructability assessments Support preparation of design
packages and project deliverables in accordance with organizational
standards and applicable codes Perform literature reviews and data
gathering to support engineering analyses. Participate in design
review meetings, document meeting minutes, and track action items
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical,
electrical, structural, geotechnical, and project controls groups
Assist in maintaining project files, design records, and document
control processes Conduct presentations to interdisciplinary teams
and external parties Core Competencies: Strong technical foundation
in civil engineering principles, including statics, materials,
hydraulics, soil mechanics, and structural behavior Ability to
perform analytical work accurately and follow established
engineering processes Ability to evaluate data, perform
calculations, and apply engineering judgment under direction Strong
written and verbal communication skills; ability to document
findings clearly and professionally Strong attention to detail and
commitment to quality Team player with the ability to collaborate
effectively in multidisciplinary environments and follow
supervisory guidance Strong organization and time-management skills
with the ability to handle multiple assignments Demonstrated
initiative and willingness to learn standards and procedures
Flexible and adaptable to change Requirements: Actively working
towards a post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering
with emphasis on Structural Engineering. Senior students or new
grads preferred. Working knowledge of SAP 2000 and Mathcad
Foundational understanding of basic structural dynamics concepts
(natural frequency, damping, modal behavior) Familiarity with
fundamental seismic design concepts such as response spectra, PGA,
design basis earthquake criteria, and code-referenced seismic
parameters. Basic exposure to soilstructure interaction concepts,
including foundation flexibility and soil modulus concepts, through
coursework or academic projects Proficiency with Microsoft Office
(Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) Basic familiarity with CAD tools
(AutoCAD, Revit, or similar). Strong problem identification and
problem resolution skills Flexibility to adjust to shifting
priorities and deadlines Skilled at developing and maintaining
strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with
external customers and vendors Assets: Exposure to nuclear design
concepts, principles, regulations, codes and standards Experience
with numerical modelling concepts, including finite element
modelling Working knowledge of SASSI and ANSYS Familiarity with
nuclear design standards (eg. CSA N291, CSA N287, ANSI/AISC N690,
ACI 349, ASCE/SEI 4, ASCE/SEI 43) Familiarity with DOE standards
(e.g., DOE-STD-1020) Coursework or academic project experience
related to: Structural dynamics Geotechnical earthquake engineering
Seismic design per ASCE/SEI 7 or ASCE/SEI 43 Soilstructure
