experienced IT professional for the role of IT Manager, Laboratory
Information System (LIS) Implementation. This individual will be
part of a newly-formed division supporting laboratory partnerships
and acquisitions and will collaborate with IT, vendor, business,
laboratory operations, and partnership stakeholders to ensure
successful LIS implementations. The IT Manager, LIS Implementation
will demonstrate a working knowledge of laboratory operations and
the ability to learn complex processes and technology quickly.
Essential Job Duties:
- Serves as a member of the broader LIS implementation team and
collaborates in accomplishing defined strategic LIS initiatives for
the Health System Operating Division.
- Contributes to the development of the overall IT strategy for
LIS implementation; develops repeatable implementation processes
for assigned laboratory initiatives.
- Takes ownership of the LIS implementation strategy from the
time of assignment through deployment and transition to
support.
- Drives cross-functional Center of Excellence discussions to
collectively evaluate relevant LIS options, identify level of
implementation effort across teams, assess impacts to other planned
or in-flight initiatives, analyze risks, and define a recommended
approach.
- Partners with operations leaders to identify site-specific
requirements that impact the deployment strategy.
- Assists with the review of sales orders and statements of work
as applicable; leads or participates in other planning activities
relevant to the implementation initiative.
- Collaborates with IT PMO resources, operations and other
stakeholders in the development of LIS implementation plans,
training approaches, and the provision of go-live support.
- Coordinates and manages the evaluation of risks; remediates,
mitigates, and/or escalates risks via appropriate leadership
channels as needed.
- Prepares for and leads meetings at an appropriate cadence; uses
excellent verbal and written communication.
- Prepares and delivers executive summaries, status reports, and
presentations for a variety of audiences.
- Documents lessons learned to ensure ongoing success with future
initiatives.
- Assists in the strategic analysis of potential new acquisitions
or partnerships with respect to LIS capabilities and
offerings.
- Fosters a collaborative environment by establishing a team
atmosphere of candor, trust and mutual respect.
- Develops sound working relationships with IT, business,
laboratory operations, and vendor stakeholders.
- Builds and leads a team as applicable; mentors team members as
needed to ensure consistent high performance and growth.
Education and Qualifications:
- A BA (Bachelor of Arts) or BS (Bachelor of Science) degree is
required.
- 5+ years of IT experience, preferably in an IT project
management, IT product management, and/or laboratory technology
solutions role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams comprising 5-15 members
through complex solutions analysis, design, planning, and
deployment.
- A solid understanding of how the LIS impacts and is impacted by
surround technologies to include Revenue Cycle, Electronic Health
Records, Voice Integration, Client and Reference Interfaces,
etc.
- Experience working with multiple levels of IT, business, and
laboratory operations leaders.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to translate abstract
information into a consumable format.
- Ability to support and drive highly-visible, strategic
initiatives that will positively impact both Labcorp and external
partners.
- Business principles and techniques of administration,
organization, and management to include a working knowledge of the
laboratory industry and laboratory operations, fundamentals of
strategic planning, and general trends in the health care
