Job Description:
The following statements are intended to describe the general
nature and level of work being performed. This is not intended to
be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties
and skills required of personnel. The Senior Business Resiliency
Manager is responsible for the support of the Business Resilience
Program including planning, organizing, and coordinating all
aspects of the ongoing Business Resilience program elements. The
Senior Business Resiliency Manager guides initiatives in accordance
with the mission and goals of the organization. The Senior Business
Resiliency Manager is highly knowledgeable, with a broad set of
skills that cross technical, business, project, risk, crisis
management and vendor management. The Senior Business Resiliency
Manager supports problem resolution and status reporting for global
Business environments, and processes. This includes planning and
execution of Business Continuity exercises, assist with
implementation of new processes into the business resiliency plans
and support of real-time business continuity plan activations.
- Maintain Business Continuity plan and recovery procedures for
business-critical processes as identified by the BIA in a 7x24
International Fortune 500 company
- Conduct Business Continuity exercises to ensure readiness in
the event of an actual business disruption. Identify gaps found
during exercises between recovery objectives and recovery
capabilities. Assist with the development of remediation plans to
address findings.
- Provide guidance and act as subject matter expert as it
pertains to Business Resiliency.
- Coordinate and execute approved adjustments and changes that
increase performance and availability of business processes, based
on BIA requirements.
- Work with assigned vendor resources in the areas pertaining to
Business Resiliency.
- Assess and report risk in the areas pertaining to Business
Resiliency planning.
- Participate in cross functional reviews and identify high risk
areas pertaining to Business Continuity.
- Contribute to and maintain system standards including Change
Management and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Research and recommend possible automated approaches for
Business Resiliency planning tasks.
- Facilitate Business Impact Assessments. Identify opportunities
for improvement and lead deep dives on key initiatives through
program and plan reviews.
- Work closely with IT Resiliency and Crisis Management team
members to continually mature and improve the response to
disruptive events
- Identify and communicate any gaps between Business Resiliency
requirements and capabilities.
Expectations:
- This role has a level of responsibility and accountability for
ensuring Business Continuity throughout an International Fortune
500 company. Experience with similar levels of responsibility,
accountability and scope are expected.
- Should be a self-starter with a strong interest in Business
Resiliency planning and able to deal with a fast-paced 7x24 global
delivery model.
- Familiar with ISO 22301
- Knowledge and practical application of Business Continuity and
Resiliency technologies.
- Good understanding of business process analysis (BPA) and
improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, BPM.
- Facilitate problem solving among administrative groups with
varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with
administrative users, process owners, and senior management of an
International Fortune 500 company.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and
presentation skills across organizational boundaries.
- Work with a range of international staff to develop joint
solutions in project and ongoing support situations.
- Achieve efficiencies through workflow improvement.
- Ability to positively accept feedback and use it to improve
individual performance and productivity
- Demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to difficult
challenges
- Communicate business terms with customers at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively under pressure as
well as manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective prioritization of workload.
- Perform well independently and in a team environment, with
staff at all levels, to achieve business goals.
- Ability to work weekends and overnight hours as needed.
- Travel may be required from time to time (less than 10%)
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a Business Continuity related field, or an
equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. 7+
years of overall Business Continuity experience
- 5+ years of experience in Business Continuity planning,
administrative or managerial capacity with internal and functional
staff as well as vendor assigned resources in an International
Fortune 500 or larger company.
- Knowledge, skill, and demonstrated ability to maintain an
Enterprise-wide Business Continuity awareness program and serve as
subject matter expert.
- Detailed knowledge of compliance policies, laws and regulations
governing Business Continuity Programs
- Desired credentials include:
- CBCI
- CBCP
- ISO 22301 CBCM
- CBRM
