Job Description:
Acts as an infrastructure and production support engineer,
designing, implementing, and deploying infrastructure upgrades from
outdated to current technology for highly scaled secure financial
services consumer and professional brokerage Web applications.
Provides production support through triage, design, and the
implementation of software changes for post-production and security
defects (SCRs). Develops software in support of infrastructure
initiatives, including application and Web server and tech stack
upgrades. Works with external vendors (Microsoft and Adobe) to
certify, debug, and fix issues related to third party software.
Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional
initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or
multiple software applications. Analyzes and recommends changes in
project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies
to development experts and management. Primary Responsibilities: Participates in architecture design teams. Defines and implements application level architecture. Develops applications on complex projects, components, and
subsystems for the division. Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and
reviews and validates test plans. Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications
or subsystems. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects
across multiple platforms. Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget. Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for
projects. Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for
multiple projects. Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various
project/technology issues. Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical
evaluation estimates on technology initiatives. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Mentors junior team members. Performs independent and complex technical and functional
analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional
initiatives. Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going
development efforts. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years
of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
implementing, testing, and debugging highly scaled, secure
financial services consumer and professional brokerage Web
applications. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered
or three (3) years of experience implementing, testing, and
debugging highly scaled secure financial services consumer and
professional brokerage Web applications. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) implementing, testing, and debugging
highly scaled secure financial services, consumer, and professional
brokerage Web applications -- order entry, positions, money
movement and market, cash and margin management, multi-account data
aggregation, market data research, and context aware navigation --
using Waterfall and Agile methodologies; designing, developing, and
implementing software UI Web applications for multi-tier investment
management and research applications, using Single Page
Architecture (SPA), Angular JS, JavaScript, ActionScript, Adobe
Flex, and jQuery; and analyzing and migrating legacy portal
technologies -- Struts, Cairngorm, Ibatis, and Spring security
frameworks -- to modern equivalents Springboot 2.0, Spring 4,
Spring 5, Universal Connection Pool, MyBatis, and Angular JS. DE creating micro services, stand-alone, and production ready
Spring applications, using Spring Boot and Integration with Spring
Ecosystem including, Spring JDBC, ORM, Data, and Security. DE controlling access and authorization functions and supporting
customized user platform experiences approaches exposing
functionality to various users -- using role-based entitlement
systems; and controlling feature and functional activation with
respect to time using versioning. DE performing infrastructure development -- analyzing and
migrating legacy TCserver and Websphere to Tomcat/Springboot,
iPlanet to Apache Webservers, and SOAP to REST services; and
updating legacy applications to be 12-factor ready for Cloud
