Job Description:
Are you an experienced Medical Lab Professional? If so, LabCorp
wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our
Immunology Lab team as a Senior Technologist in Burlington, NC. In
this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and
challenging environment.Our Immunology lab performs testing using
both automated and manual procedures. We perform QC, QA, specimen
management, and other duties as assigned. Work in a team
environment to meet the needs of our patients.The work schedule for
this position will be 1st shift (Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm) Job
Description/Responsibilities: Determine the acceptability of
specimens for testing according to established criteriaPerform
routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to
departmental Standard Operating ProceduresMonitor, operate and
troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper
functionalityDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions
regarding testing and problem solvingPrepare, test and evaluate new
reagents or controlsReport accurate and timely test results in
order to deliver quality patient careEvaluate raw and final data
for accuracy; recognize and correct errors or unusual
resultsProvide guidance to technical staff with the analysis and
interpretation of final resultsPerform new test procedures and/or
methods and provide feedback based on your findingsAssist with
training and orientation of new employees as neededPerform and
document preventive maintenance and quality control
proceduresIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as
necessaryAssist with processing of specimens when neededMaintain a
safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective
equipmentRequirements: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry,
Medical Technology or a related scienceMinimum 4+ years of clinical
laboratory testing experience is required for Sr. Technologist
level, 7 years preferred.ASCP or AMT certification is preferred but
not required.Demonstrated success in clinical testing technical
proficiency and scientific knowledgeAdvanced knowledge and
understanding of specific laboratory and/or department
functionsAbility to exercise judgment to determine methods and
procedures on new assignmentsProficient with computers and
familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of
attention detail along with strong communication and organizational
skillsAbility to work independently and within a team
environmentMust be able to pass a standardized color vision
screenFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on
