Genitourinary Medical/Surgical Oncology, Clinic 5-1 -- Participate
in multi-disciplinary team including pharmacists, medical
assistants, physicians,advanced practice providers, and
administrators to provide world class oncology care- Answer patient
advice requests via MyChart- Perform occasional blood draws and
central line management- Provide education related to the disease
process, side effects of medications, adverse effects oftreatments
(neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia), and chemotherapy
education- See provider and nurse only visits in clinic and act
autonomously to address the patient's needsupon assessment in
conjunction with the primary care team- Facilitate prior
authorizations and arrange for prescription refills- Administer
hormone deprivation injections- Assist with ensuring proper
scheduling of appointments and procedures (port placements,
CTguided biopsies, etc.)- Process faxed information from outside
facilities regarding patient care- Coordinate with Adult Bone
Marrow Transplant to facilitate steps to transplant- Order blood
products per protocol and coordinate with treatment room for
transfusion services -Occ SummaryPlan and provide professional
nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and
established policies and procedures. -Work Performed -Plan and
provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with
the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of

as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire
unit material resources; appraise quality and effectiveness of
material and equipment and report results to head nurse; maintain
standards of cleanliness in assigned areas.Observe activities of
nursing staff and make recommendations to nursing management for
improvement in the quality and effectiveness of nursing care given
-procedures designed to effect efficiency of operations.
-Knowledge, Skills and Abilities -Knowledge of scope of the
registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and ability to assess
nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients plan of care
-Working knowledge and completion of appropriate JCAHO and other
Competent in BLS and/or other specialized life support requirements
regulatory requirements -Ability to teach patients and families
inaccordance with the nursing -Knowledge of and appropriate
application of the nursing process -Ability to use computer and
learn new software programs and their families -Ability to use fine
motor skills designated by work area -Ability to record activities,
document assessments, plan of care -Ability to navigate the entity

Qualifications - -EducationWork requires graduation from an
accredited BSN/ADN program. Nurses without a Bachelor's degree in
Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN
program within two years of their start date but must complete the
program within five years of their start date. Registered nurses
hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN
program to remain in this job classification. -Experience -Twelve
months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a
manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are
exceptional performers may be eligible for this level. -Degrees,
Licensures, Certifications -Must have current or compact RN
