Visit friendship.us for more information.Friendship is looking for a Full Time Assistant Director of Nursing, RN or LPN to join our Friendship Health and Rehab team, located in Roanoke, VA. This position is responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing in directing and advising the nursing staff with regard to resident care and facility policies and procedures. They regularly inform staff of any changes to these policies and procedures or state and federal laws.Roles & Responsibilities: Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs to measure, assess and improve the quality of nursing care provided in accordance with governmental regulations and facility policies with focus on, but not limited to infection control and QA management Supervises completion of any and all infection control reports, monitoring and education required to meet regulations and/or industry standards with reference from the policy and procedure Assist with Quality Assurance monitoring, trending and education to staff Participates in facility surveys Assess and communicate resident conditions, care and any other critical information across shifts and/or departments Assist with planning and actively participate in meetings (care plan, department, risk meetings, etc.) May assist with the directing of all assignments for unit nursing staff including schedules, break and meal times, disciplinary action, and resident assignments with input from nurse managers Assists with employee reviews on an annual basisQualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred Unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia required Minimum of 8 years of nursing experience with 3 years of progressive supervisory experience required Experience in long-term care environment preferred BLS required/ACLS preferred This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
