The Judge Group is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Position: RN- PCU/MS Float (MUST be comfortable working ALL PCU and MS units SCHEDULING DETAILS • Contract Length/Shift Details: 4x12s, 645p-715a • Charting: EPIC experience required • Floating: Staffing needs are Re-evaluated every 4 hours, so traveler could float 2-3 times per shift (up to every 4 hours) • Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block • Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract • Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS • ACLS, BLS REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS • Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration • Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac) • Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, titrating cardiac drips, and responding to emergencies via Rapid Response/Code teams • Capable of managing PCA and heparin protocols, administering IV insulin, and handling endocrine/metabolic conditions • Background includes telemetry and stepdown-level care (PCU/DOU/IMC), with cardiovascular experience in pre/post cardiac cath settings UNIT DETAILS • PCU average ratio: 5:1 | MS average ratio: 6:1 (May flex up to 7:1) HOSPITAL HIGHLIGHTS Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and the flagship facility of Carilion Clinic.
