Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Med-Surg/Telemetry registered nurse opportunity is available on a contract basis in Salisbury, NC. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with diverse medical conditions including stroke, CHF, COPD, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, post-surgical recovery, and behavioral health concerns. Key responsibilities include delivering comprehensive post-operative care and managing complex medical tasks such as chest tube management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, and medication drip management including cardiac drips and blood products. Candidates must be proficient in telemetry assessments and skilled in managing a variety of tubes and drains. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is integral, with support from CNAs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensive care specialists. Qualifications and Desired Experience: - Minimum of 18 months experience in Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing. - Current RN license with certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale. - Strong knowledge of post-op care, orthopedic nursing, TPN, and PCA pumps. - Ability to perform advanced nursing assessments and critical care interventions. - Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC, and familiarity with various medical equipment. - Willingness to float within the region as needed, including Med/Tele, ICU, PCU, and Emergency Department settings. - Flexibility for a rotating schedule including every other weekend and holiday shifts. Schedule/Hours: - 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. - Weekend rotation every other weekend. - Holiday work expected for approximately 75% of holidays within contract. - No on-call duties.
