seeking a Surgical Technologist II for a top healthcare client in
Roanoke, VA . This position offers the opportunity to work in a
high-acuity surgical environment alongside experienced surgeons and
nurses, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties. The
Surgical Technologist will play a key role in maintaining sterile
technique, anticipating surgical team needs, and ensuring patient
safety and procedural efficiency. Job Responsibilities Assist
surgeons and nurses during procedures by preparing instruments,
supplies, and equipment. Establish and maintain a sterile field,
ensuring all members of the surgical team adhere to aseptic
technique. Demonstrate correct and safe instrumentation passing and
handling. Participate in surgical counts (sponges, needles, and
instruments) in accordance with policy. Adhere to all policies,
procedures, and regulatory standards related to patient safety and
quality care. Support educational and professional development
activities within the department. Requirements Education High
school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited
Surgical Technology program . Must hold a current Certified
Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board
of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting , or have completed
an approved military program in surgical technology. Experience No
prior experience required; new graduates welcome.
Certifications/Licenses Certification in Surgical Technology
required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Must maintain
registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professions .
Skills or Competencies Strong understanding of surgical
instrumentation and sterile field setup. Excellent communication
and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and ability to
