state board) - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Clinical
skills: IV insertion, central venous access familiarity, and
titration of vasoactive drips (Nitro, Cardene, Cardizem) - Must
pass Relias competency exams (2 attempts allowed) - Willingness to
float to ED, Med-Surg, and ICU as needed (flexible acute care
support) - Must comply with 80-mile radius rule - Dress code: black
scrubs, white scrubs, or a combination Responsibilities - Deliver
high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in a 35-bed
Medical Step-Down/Intermediate Unit (average census 25–30) -
Monitor, assess, and manage patients with complex medical and
cardiac conditions including chest pain, CHF, PE, GI bleed, COPD,
respiratory failure, diabetes, and renal failure - Perform and
assist with procedures such as chest tube care, central line care
and maintenance, HD tunneled catheter assistance, and thoracentesis
support - Administer and titrate vasoactive drips per established
protocols and collaborate with providers on hemodynamic management
- Use telemetry monitoring and acute care assessment skills to
recognize and escalate clinical deterioration - Collaborate with
physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to coordinate and
optimize patient care and discharge planning - Document
assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and
timely in the electronic health record (EHR) - Educate patients and
families to support recovery, discharge planning, and continuity of
care - Participate in flexible scheduling and self-scheduling to
meet unit and travel nurse staffing needs This Travel PCU
