TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified
ICU/Critical Care RN in Christiansburg, Virginia, 24073! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Active state or compact RN
license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: EPIC
experience required Description: Position available in a critical
care unit. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts per week.
The average patient ratio is 2:1. ICU experience at a large
facility preferred. Nurses will be responsible for managing
ventilator patients and multiple drips. Skills required include IV
therapy, respiratory support, and medication administration.
Experience with continuous IV sedation and emergency medications is
necessary. Candidates should be able to assist with chest tube
insertion and removal. Familiarity with diabetic ketoacidosis,
respiratory failures, and sepsis management is a plus. Nurses will
cooperate with physicians at the bedside during procedures.
Floating within the skill set may be required. Candidates must be
willing to work holidays as mandated by unit guidelines. The unit
sees a variety of medical and surgical patients. Caring for
patients with conditions such as pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, and
renal failure is expected. The facility offers supportive
interdisciplinary staff for optimal patient care. Candidates should
uphold high standards of patient care and nursing practices.
Required clinical skills include arterial line management and
central/PICC line care. Nurses will need to maintain IV initiation
and management skills. Qualified candidates should adhere to
established protocols for insulin and other medications. A
commitment to ongoing education and certification is encouraged.
