Duties The individual in this position is responsible for the
clinical supervision of Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC)
mental health services staff at designated facilities, consistent
with contemporary mental health care and correctional standards. To
provide clinical supervision, consultation, direction, and training
to mental health services staff and to monitor the quality and
effectiveness of mental health services provided to inmates in
correctional settings. Minimum Qualifications Advanced degree in
Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Clinical
Social Work, or equivalent degree in related human services field
from an accredited university Thorough working knowledge of
psychological assessment and treatment modalities Thorough working
knowledge of principles and practices of supervision Knowledge of
treatment program design and evaluation, quality assessment,
implementation, and evaluation Skill in working with professional
and paraprofessional staff. Demonstrated ability to supervise and
to work with multidisciplinary staff Ability to develop and
implement mental health services programs and quality assessment
programs Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in
writing Additional Considerations Licensed at the graduate level as
a Mental Health clinician Supervisory experience and experience in
correctional, forensic, mental health, or other institutional
