Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Durham, North
Carolina. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting HR
operations and ensuring smooth employee processes within our
non-profit organization. This is a long-term contract position that
offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while
developing your HR expertise. Responsibilities: • Assist in
managing HR administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate
records and documentation. • Support the onboarding process for new
hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization. •
Utilize HR information systems (HRIS) to maintain employee data and
generate reports. • Collaborate with team members to address
employee relations issues and provide support as needed. • Conduct
background checks and verify employment credentials for new staff.
• Coordinate HR-related communications and ensure timely
dissemination of information. • Monitor compliance with
organizational policies and regulatory requirements. • Respond to
employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and
procedures. • Participate in the development and enhancement of HR
processes to improve efficiency. • Maintain confidentiality and
handle sensitive information with professionalism.• Proven
experience in HR administration or a similar role. • Familiarity
with HRIS platforms and their functionalities. • Strong
understanding of onboarding processes and employment verification.
• Knowledge of employee relations practices and strategies. •
Ability to perform background checks and ensure compliance with
legal standards. • Excellent organizational and communication
skills. • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously. • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and
professionalism in all HR activities.
