Job Description:
The following statements are intended to describe the general
nature and level of work being performed. This is not intended to
be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties
and skills required of personnel. The Senior IT Resiliency Manager
is responsible for the support of the Information Technology
Disaster Recovery (ITDR) Program including planning, organizing,
and coordinating all aspects of the ongoing ITDR program elements.
The Senior IT Resiliency Manager guides groups of technical staff
on initiatives in accordance with the mission and goals of the
organization. The Senior IT Resiliency Manager is highly
knowledgeable, with a broad set of skills that cross technical,
business, project, risk, crisis management and vendor management.
The Senior IT Resiliency Manager supports problem resolution and
status reporting for global IT DR infrastructure, environments, and
processes. This includes planning and execution of ITDR exercises,
assist with implementation of new technologies into the ITDR
portfolio and support of real-time ITDR activations.
- Maintain ITDR plan and recovery procedures for business
critical applications as identified by the BIA in a 7x24 global
delivery model.
- Conduct ITDR tests to ensure readiness in the event of an
actual declaration. Identify gaps found during testing between
recovery objectives and recovery capabilities. Assist with the
development of remediation plans to address findings.
- Provide guidance and act as subject matter expert as it
pertains to ITDR.
- Coordinate and execute approved adjustments and changes that
increase performance and availability of applications, based on BIA
requirements.
- Work with assigned vendor resources in the areas pertaining to
ITDR.
- Assess and report technical risk in the areas pertaining to
ITDR. Assist with evaluation of new technology and tools and work
with technical teams to build business cases for their use.
- Participate in cross functional reviews and identify high risk
areas pertaining to ITDR scope.
- Contribute to and maintain system standards including Change
Management and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Research and recommend possible automated approaches for ITDR
tasks.
- Facilitate ITDR vulnerability studies and impact assessments.
Identify opportunities for improvement and lead deep dives on key
initiatives through program and project reviews.
- Work closely with Business Continuity and Crisis Management
team members to continually mature and improve the response to
disruptive events
- Identify and communicate any gaps between business recovery
requirements and ITDR capabilities.
Expected Responsibilities:
- Should be a self-starter with a strong interest in technology
and the ability to deal with a fast paced global environment and
ambiguity.
- Some experience with Server operating systems, storage and
replication technologies.
- Knowledge and practical application of IT Disaster Recovery and
Business Continuity technology.
- Good understanding of technical troubleshooting
methodologies.
- Facilitate problem solving among administrative groups with
varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with
administrative users, technical staff, and senior management.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and
presentation skills across organizational boundaries.
- Work with a range of technical staff to develop joint solutions
in project and ongoing support situations.
- Achieve efficiencies through workflow improvement.
- Ability to positively accept feedback and use it to improve
individual performance and productivity
- Demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to difficult
challenges
- Should retain information on a large number of varying and
detailed processes and procedures that tend to change frequently.
- Communicate technology into business terms with customers at
all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively under pressure as
well as manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective prioritization of workload.
- Perform well independently and in a team environment, with
staff at all levels, to achieve business goals.
- Ability to work weekends and overnight hours as needed.
- Travel may be required from time to time (less than 10%)
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field,
or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and
training. 7+ years of overall IT experience
- ITIL Foundations desired
- Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer desired
- 5+ years of experience in Disaster Recovery planning,
administrative or managerial capacity with internal IT and
functional staff as well as vendor assigned resources in a large
global company.
- Knowledge, skill, and ability to maintain a company-wide
disaster recovery awareness program and serve as a subject matter
expert.
- Detailed knowledge of compliance practices, global corporate
policies, laws and regulations governing Business Continuity or
Disaster Recovery Programs
Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000
