/ Platform Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) Contract
Duration: 24 Months Pay: $70/hr W2 W2 ONLY, NO C2C Overview We are
seeking a highly skilled GCP Architect / Platform Engineer to
design and deliver enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure and data
platforms on Google Cloud. This role will focus on building secure,
scalable, and resilient GCP environments , leveraging modern
infrastructure-as-code practices and aligning with enterprise
architecture and security standards. The ideal candidate brings
deep expertise in GCP architecture, Terraform, and modern data
platforms , along with experience supporting large-scale enterprise
environments. Key Responsibilities GCP Architecture & Platform
Engineering Design and implement foundational GCP infrastructure ,
including: VPC architecture, networking, and segmentation Private
Service Connect, load balancing, and connectivity
(VPN/Interconnect) Multi-zone and multi-region architectures
Configure and manage Cloud IAM, KMS, and network security controls
. Build and support logging, monitoring, and observability
frameworks . Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Develop,
modularize, and maintain Terraform (TFE/Terraform Cloud) modules
for GCP infrastructure. Ensure idempotent, version-controlled
deployments aligned to enterprise standards. Drive automation and
standardization across cloud provisioning and configuration. Data
Platform & Analytics Engineering Design and support modern GCP data
platforms , including: BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and
Google Cloud Storage (GCS) Dataplex, BigLake/Iceberg, and hybrid
data integration patterns Enable scalable and efficient data
ingestion, transformation, and analytics workflows . Security,
Governance & Compliance Design secure-by-default cloud environments
with least privilege access controls. Integrate with enterprise
security tools such as DLP, tokenization, and service perimeters .
Embed governance and compliance controls directly into
infrastructure-as-code patterns . Resiliency, Observability & Cost
Optimization Implement solutions aligned with Site Reliability
Engineering (SRE) principles , including SLIs/SLOs. Design for high
availability, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity (BCP)
. Establish monitoring, alerting, and cost governance frameworks to
ensure long-term efficiency. Migration & Integration Support
migration of on-premise platforms (e.g., Teradata, Hadoop, SQL
Server, Oracle) to GCP. Design and implement standardized
migration, ingestion, and validation patterns . Enable hybrid and
multi-cloud integration strategies. Architecture Documentation &
Collaboration Produce high-level and low-level design documentation
(HLD/LLD) . Develop reference architectures and reusable design
patterns . Lead and participate in architecture reviews with
Enterprise Architecture, InfoSec, and platform teams. Required
Qualifications 6 years of experience in cloud engineering or
architecture , with strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
Hands-on experience designing and implementing GCP infrastructure
and networking . Advanced experience with Terraform (Terraform
Cloud / TFE) and infrastructure automation. Strong understanding of
cloud security, IAM, and governance frameworks . Experience
building or supporting modern data platforms on GCP . Strong
communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts
to stakeholders.
