Job Description Job Description ?? We are seeking a CDL Driver to join our team! You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Big Yellow Service is now hiring a full-time roll-off truck driver. We are a specialty company - local, family-owned, and in existence to offer exceptional service to our customers. We are looking for a friendly, respectful, dependable, and safe driver to join our team. The best candidate for this role will happily maintain close relationships with project managers, respect homeowners and their property, safely operate a specially equipped truck, manage time appropriately, love independent work, and not mind getting dirty. Responsibilities: Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck Load and unload cargo Properly track and document activity log Report any issues or incidents to dispatch Inspect the truck before and after trip Qualifications: Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields Commercial driver's license Ability to handle physical workload Strong work ethic Safely deliver Roll-Off containers to customer job-sites Work closely with the dispatcher Provide excellent customer service to customers and homeowners Speak with customers and homeowners to ensure satisfaction Maintain relationships with project managers Perform Safety Pre-Trip inspections according to DOT guidelines Empty containers at disposal sites Automatic tarp containers during transport Excellent time management skills to ensure always on time Safely operate the vehicle in all weather conditions Navigate high-traffic roads, driveways, and tight overhead environments Highly skilled backing and maneuvering sometimes necessary Professional interactions with customers and maintaining professional and courteous behavior with all members of the public Be part of a fun, dynamic team changing the way waste management is done! Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement (REQUIRED) Ability to read a map and/or use navigational devices Ability to work early mornings, nights, some holidays, and weekends Good time management skills to ensure assigned routes are completed efficiently and safely Flexibility to adapt to changes as needed Good problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues Desire to work as a team, while helping and interacting respectfully with each other Responsibilities As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a collection truck while driving through neighborhoods and communities You will get the chance to provide reliable, friendly, and consistent service for our customers who rely on us for an essential service Your job helps to keep streets, neighborhoods, and communities safe and clean Safely operate a collection truck to collect waste and/or recycling along a designated route and transfer to a disposal site Work closely with Dispatch, your Supervisor, and the rest of the driver team to service our customers on different routes and schedules Load/unload waste and/or recycling materials at landfills, recycling centers, or similar facilities Perform pre-and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure the truck is in proper working order and address maintenance issues quickly Follow all required safety policies and report any safety or employee experience issues to leadership Benefits: Dental Insurance Health insurance Paid time off Paid training Safety equipment provided Vision insurance Schedule: 10-hour shift 8-hour shift Holidays Monday to Friday
