JOB TITLE: Adult Day Program Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Moneta Springs
REPORTS TO: Adult Day Program Director / Administrator of Memory
POSITION TYPE: Full time and Part time - both available
HOURS: Program hours are 8:30am 4:00pm. The Adult Day Program
Assistants hours will be scheduled based on the operational need
and may vary between 7.5 37.5 hours per week. The schedule is
Monday - Friday one week, and Tuesday - Saturday the following
SALARY RANGE: $12 - $15 per hour depending on experience and
The program assistant provides essential personal and
recreational services to the participants of the Adult Day Program
to help meet their needs while enabling them to function at their
highest possible level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with

* Will provide reminders and cueing as needed regarding
participants toileting, dining, mobility, psychosocial and safety
needs. * Follows universal precautions, proper infection control,
sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and
activities. * Observes participants closely, identifying changing
needs and conditions at first indication, and communicates with
supervisor. * Actively participates in the individualized care
planning of all participants. * Continually seeks opportunities to
meet participants psychosocial needs through both scheduled and
spontaneous activities that support participant choice. *
Continually seeks opportunities to promote and improve the social
needs of all participants through supporting and encouraging,
friendships and kindness to one another. * Is active in the
planning and organizing of large and small group activities and
one-on-one with individuals, making any necessary changes to assure
successful results for all. * Leads and participates in learning
circles for staff and participants. * Demonstrates ability to work
well under stressful situations. * Maintains all supplies including
equipment and games used in supporting participants individual
choice and for group activities. * Assists in maintaining a clean,
safe environment within the center including restrooms and common
areas. * Supports all aspects of the program and the environment,
including pets, plants, children, visitors, and volunteers. *
Assists in program record-keeping and updating required
documentation. * May be required to perform other duties in keeping
with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter
the job requirements.

Education and/or Experience and other Requirements:
One or more years of experience working with older individuals
with dementia preferred.
* High school graduate or GED required. * Bachelor degree
preferred but not required. * NCAPA - NC Activity Professional
Association certification preferred but not required.
Certificates, licenses, registrations:
Must be CPR & First Aid Certified.
* Must complete the following training classes: Twin Lakes
Community Orientation, Dementia Specific Training, and Montessori
Philosophies & Techniques * Will attend ongoing training classes as
scheduled. * CNA preferred but not required
