The toxicology department is a large, high volume testing lab that consists of 4 sub departments: toxicology, biological monitoring, blood lead and mass spec.? Our toxicology tests are primarily focused on therapeutic drug monitoring, our biological monitoring tests focus on metal or chemical exposures and our mass spec department is our most rapidly growing area and encompasses testing from several disciplines from toxicology to endocrinology.? The work schedule for this position will be 2nd shift, Sun-Thurs. 3pm-11:30pm. Job Duties/Responsibilities:Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteriaPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating ProceduresMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solvingPrepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controlsReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient carePerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessaryAssist with processing of specimens when neededMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science1 year of clinical lab experience required at Tech Trainee levelAbility to work independently within a team and strong attention to detail Strong organization skillsMust be flexible with time and adaptable to change.Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screenAbility to work overtime as business needs Labcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer: As an EOE/AA employer, the organization will not discriminate in its employment practices due to an applicant's race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or veteran status.
