Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) is
focused on recruiting new businesses to the state, supporting the
needs of existing businesses, connecting exporters to global
customers, helping small business owners get their start, and
attracting tourists and visitors from all over the world. About The
Role Promote North Carolina for business and employment. Work
professionally with a wide range of clients from CEOs to
individuals with limited business and technology knowledge. Educate
people/businesses regarding how to start or expand a business in
NC, provide regulatory information and compliance requirements
(based on NC Legislature/Law), and share partner resources. Through
training, attain a working knowledge of the 950 licenses pertaining
to different occupations and industries in NC. Learn and share
basics of partners’ services, e.g., business training, funding
options, and certification programs. Provide excellent customer
service and follow through on processes. Position requires clear,
concise written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and
confidentiality. What You’ll Do Provide professional customer
service to all clients via phone, email, web, and in person Assist
individuals who contact our team or anyone who contacts EDPNC about
our services or state related resources Continue to learn and be
familiar with legislature changes in licensing and with partner
resources Identify and assist people or entities with business
regulatory permits for NC Provide other resources to help the
client maximize success Exemplify a positive attitude when working
with both internal (team members, other departments) and external
clients Assist clients with answering questions about basic
business forms for NC Enter data accurately, record how client was
assisted including client-name, email, phone number and shared
regulations and resources Requirements: Education and Experience
College degree or equivalent customer service experience (working
with clients, and customers the majority of the day in person or
via phone) Microsoft 360 programs, CRM (Salesforce), social media
and the Internet required Working knowledge of business basics:
product or idea development, target marketing, finance (how the
business makes money), and how to grow a business Prefer Bilingual;
fluent in Spanish, ability to speak, understand, read, and write in
Spanish Key Competencies Decision making; problem-solving by
knowing what questions to ask the customer Self-confidence to share
information clearly and concisely Teamwork, flexibility Diligence,
accuracy, and completeness Reliable, dependable Professional and
positive demeanor Mental and Physical Requirements Mental
requirements include: Demonstrates strong detail-oriented
organizational skills Demonstrates strong customer service and
communication skills – this position communicates directly with the
public Demonstrates sound and practical decision making Ability to
read, listen and communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally
and in writing (English, plus if fluent in Spanish) Ability to
learn and retain information; problem solve Physical requirements
include: Sitting and standing for long periods of time (e.g., when
attending trade shows) Ability to carry or move up to 10 lbs. (e.g.
marketing materials at trade shows) Driving a vehicle (employee or
company-leased/company-rented) Working Conditions Remote work
environment Travel to events, corporate office, and conferences as
needed
